Treat your Workforce like your Family

Many companies mistreat their workforce nowadays which is a recipe for disaster. Companies need to start treating their workforce like a family so there will be little to no turn-over rate, maximum productivity and potential. The CEO is the father, while the VP is the mother. The officers and managers are the big brothers & sisters while the employees are the sons & daughters. Treat your workforce like your family; for family members will do anything for their family.

In this day and age, many companies treat their workforce miserably. Denying them of health benefits, reasonable hours and salaries; many employees nowadays fight for their own gains. These days, employees are less loyal and devoted to their jobs and will keep switching companies for better offers. That would not be the case if companies start treating their workforce like a family.

treat your workforce like your family

Productivity is low because of high turn over rates from mistreatment. You need to improve your relationships with your workers and treat them like a family. Encouragement and mentoring is needed in order to unlock your employees’ potential. Lack of communication and bonding within the company will make the company suffer sooner or later.

Treat your workforce like your family for loyalty and prosperity. Workers who get treated like a family member will maximize their potential and talents to fulfill their roles. Many companies like to ironically greet new employees “welcome to the family”, well… start treating your workforce like one.

it definitely pays to chose a family like approach. i tried all sorts of different ways how to handle staff, I can confirm that being nice works the best even if some people from time to time take advantage out of it

I think because money and career is on the line with these people, I treat them BETTER than my family. lol

And yes, I treat my family very well. This extra-effort approach has been a very rewarding career experience - while family may be very forgiving for your mistakes, I wouldn’t rely on that to keep my job. Nevertheless, if someone messed up under my management, I think forgiving them (as families should) would make them feel appreciated, invested and worthy - and hopefully more motivated to not make the same mistake.

    Great post. Thanks.

I not so sure about treating employees like family. Yes, it is important to be polite and courteous but not to the point that possible favoritism issues will arise.

Biz- Being nice to your employees is like a secret nowadays =).

Mewie- Thank you! I like your approach!

Debo- Smart families will favor everyone or no-one so there will be no favoritism. Makes sense doesn’t it?
