Slogan is a very important element for a brand because it makes it that much easier to increase consumers retention rate and desire. It is a advertising statement that describes what your brand is all about. Some slogans have an attitude like Nike’s “Just do it” or a statement of what they are trying to accomplish like Nokia’s “connecting people”. There’s a lot of confusing slogans out there so being concise and precise is crucial for an effective slogan for branding.
Slogans must be concise in order to be effective. Slogan taking up a whole sentence to convey your brand are less effective than a slogan with just 3 words. The less words, the easier it is for the consumer to remember your slogan. Remember that the human memory is limited so you must do your best to convey your message as short as possible for optimal recall rate (less equals more in this situation).

Slogans must be precise as well in order to be effective. Those few words used in your slogan must convey exactly what you are trying to achieve. Slogans that leave the consumers guessing or confused will give them a much harder time understanding your brand and you do not want that to happen.
The slogan must be precise and concise in order for consumers to understand what your brand is all about. It can be very hard to make a good slogan because most companies keep making new ones to improve it. The slogan accompanied by a logo makes an effective advertising unit of its own.

Do you have some pointer to come with a great slogan?, what do you think about banners, are they a slogan by themself or part of it
Some people use banners with their slogan attached to it so yes. You can use a slogan to refer back to why someone would want to buy your products or services. I see that your business is about selling yachts. You can also use your business scope to give you an idea of what your slogan should be since it conveys the message on why consumers should choose you. Your slogan for your business could be “The Best Yachts at Sea”, “Dragon Yachts Sailing on Sea”, “Dragon Yachts Gliding through Seas”, “Dragons Treading through Seas”. Just mix up those few key words to suit your needs.
If you want you can do a 2 sentence slogan but it will totally destroy what I was trying to say up top, but being a deviant is to be different so here goes.
“Dragon yachts treading through the seas
sailing through the four corners of the world indeed.”
The two sentences rhyme so it will be easier for memory recall. Also this little poetry makes them imagine and think about the adventures they are going to encounter (which creates a adventurous desire). It also gives a little hint of how durable this yacht is since it can tread through any seas. You can use anything I just said so feel free to use it if you want.
I wonder if my blog’s slogan of “Jamaica + Japan” will catch on ^_^
Make a strong post about Jamaica + Japan = Jamaipanese so people can Google it. Next is to try to get that word in a dictionary and you will be golden. It is much easier to put your slogan on open dictionary websites like http://www.m-w.com/ and http://www.urbandictionary.com/. Then try to add that word in the wiki to become really popular. It’s really hard but is a good way for your slogan =).
another thing to keep in mind is that you just have to make sure your slogan is culture appropriate. we all have heard of those big corporations making mistakes when their slogans don’t translate well globally and their product ends up tanking!
Haha so true Miki! It is so funny when a word that is translated into another language can be really offensive to that particular country. And you can never offend the culture of the country you are doing business with. You have to adapt their culture and customs to even succeed overseas.
good point Miki
Just make sure you don’t make the mistake of confusing people with your slogan, we did and people thought it was our business name…
Yea that could pose a major threat! I feel sorry for your business =|.
Fortunately it was an early mistake we made, so it could be fixed before it became a big problem.
So, what is your slogan purpose. Sales purpose, objective purpose or benefit purpose?
My slogan is “The Power of Marketing and Business Strategies”. Objective is to give marketing and business strategies to help unlock people’s potential so they can start a business one day or just help their company out.
Halo David, what’s your opinion about my slogan: “By writing we can learn from our surroundings”. Is it too long or really not categorized as slogan?
