The first step to lead is to not be afraid of leading. Leading is uncomfortable yet satisfying, for you are put into decisions and commands. Don’t think that leaders have all the answers, for they mostly seek advice from others and followers to pursue the best course of action. Just do the best you can with the opportunities in hand.
Being a leader is different from being a follower, where your actions and words decides the fate of your organization and followers. At times, leaders don’t have the right answers but will continue to lead and work out the details. Leaders keep moving forward without a definite answer but will readjust the plan to make it fit as they move on. Take your first step to lead.
