4. Substitute leisure for labor
“Substitute leisure for labor” means to put the enemy in a constant state of work and exhaustion. To do so, you will have to make them take the bait of overusing their energy for fruitless gains. Doing so will exhaust the enemy, their resources and morale.
Never make your enemy relax, stress them out with countless attacks (directly and indirectly). Irritate them to lure them in your traps. Make them overwork by disrupting or destroying their tools and machines. Make even the most basic duty a hassle and the easiest task hard for your enemies.
Never make your enemy be at ease. Always make them alert and suspicious to tire out their mind and energy. Pretty soon, your enemy’s workforce and followers will burn themselves out. Picking off your competitor will be easy afterward. That’s what it means to “substitute leisure for labor”.
