Some companies sell clothing as another alternative for making money if they have a cult-like following. However, they are usually priced higher than some clothing lines to increase their profits. What happens if you sell it at break-even prices? To further increase your brand presence, is best to sell your clothing at break-even prices (unless you are a clothing company). This is a nice marketing strategy to get more exposure for loyal followers and newcomers of your business.
Selling your clothing with your logo attached at break-even prices is a wonderful strategy to increase your fan base (new and old fans). Try to make your clothing stylish like popular designers clothing so people will actually buy it and wear it. Also try not to slap a big logo on those t-shirts and long sleeves. Instead, make a small logo and place it near the right chest like most clothing companies would. Sometimes less is more, and this is the case here.

Sell your brand clothing online or next to your products. You can try to do a contest where people who racked enough points from buying your products can exchange the points for your clothing. You can also just give them away for free as part of a promotion to have more followers and customers. Sell your clothing according to the season and do it with break-even price to get more fans and newcomers to buy it. If you sell it online describe the types of material used in the clothing to attract even more buyers so they know your material doesn’t come cheap. Only then will the buyers know you are really selling at break-even prices after doing some research or comparison.
The goal of selling your clothing if you are a popular non-clothing company is to get powerful brand exposure. Think of it as a marketing campaign where you are selling your clothing at break-even prices to increase your presence in the online and offline world.

Great tip! If I may add, we can also offer some reward to encourage people to wear them around. Found this example who did just that:

We can also organize something like get spotted-and-win contest..A great way to further complement the exposure of our clothings..
Selling clothes with your logo on is a neat idea.
Another one (that’s already been done) is to print up some t-shirts with your domain on it and then hand them out as part of a competition.
Maybe an alternative is to let the winner order their choice directly from cafepress and then you pay for it…. that way they can choose their size and colour but you choose the logo.
BTW - I love the new site re-design.
Zedd- Thanks! Rewarding people to wear them can be a great idea to increase brand exposure. Thanks for the example.
Contamination- That’s pretty cool. Letting the winner decide the size and color of their clothing opens up new options and possibilities. We can just make it so that any buyer can pick their size, type, and color with the company’s logo attached.
Susan- Hey your back! Thanks =)
Selling apparel at the break-even price is a great way of getting your name out there. It’s really best if you have an interesting logo design with either no words or maybe one word. Your design will stand on its own, and people will see the logo, remember it, and then go and look it up to find out where the cool shirt(hat, whatever) came from.
Gruntled- Definitely. Without an interesting logo it might be harder to achieve the results you may want.
