Self victory is true victory, for how many can conquer their greatest enemy, themselves!? To conquer one’s own feelings, emotions and weakness of the spirit and of the flesh, takes a disciplined man of cultivation. You will be criticized, which will injure everything within you… but how many can see other people’s criticism in an open light no matter how painful?
These hypocritical slanderers and accusers words will be painful, but to be able to stand against them and even turn their words of pain into words of renewed strength and determination is the path of greatness. Self victory relies on the knowledge of the sages and the swallowing of one’s own pride and ego even under the hypocritical tongue of another.
