One Loss is Another’s Gain

One Loss is Another's Gain

One loss is another’s gain. That is one of the balances of this world. When there is a winner there has to be a loser for it neutralizes everything. There are good and bad days, happy and sad days. Your loss is mine gain. My loss is your gain…

However, many fail to notice that someone else’s gain can be a part of your gain. Their success can be a part of your success, and their opportunities can be a part of your opportunities. The secret is the method of attaining them. By tongue or by action, you can talk your way or motivate the gainer to share a part of their success. One loss is another’s gain, but you can have a part of their gain. Everything balances out.

this may a bit off the target here. but sometime I wonder why it so often happens that the biggest cheaters keep winning … where is the balance ?

David since I am a positive person and not negative (despite the fact that my online identity seems crass)- I really agree with you there. I want to see the people I am around be successful- I really do.

Biz- The biggest cheaters may seem like they are winning but in the end they will end up losing everything. Eventually they will lose themselves and at the end their very own soul. Everything balances out in the end, just that the time cannot be calculated for when it will occur. You will see things starting to take shape as time passes. By history, fate or god himself, you can’t deny that everyone has their alloted time span. We see the corrupted and tyrants die their horrible deaths. Time, people, fate or god himself will deal the final blow.

Michelle- Yea, same here :D as long as they are not corrupted!

In this new century, perhaps it’s time to re - invent the way we plan our strategies.

Instead of looking at situations thru a zero - sum lens, perhaps we should start devisin’ ways & meams to ensure that all actors in an environment benefit in the long run, i.e. : a win - win situation (no matter how absurd that may sound to most people). Common wisdom dictates that “business is war”, but there are still vast differences between entrepreneurship & warfare. Applyin’ military stratagems directly unto business contexts may limit an actor’s ability/imagination to produce the most favorable outcome.

The English writer of war, Liddell Hart once commented that an endgame which ensures that even those who have been defeated be able to surrender with their honor intact is important in order “to prevent seeds of further conflict in future”.

What was it Sun Tzu said :”to win without fighting is the true acme of war”?

Believin’ that one’s race/caste/nation is superior to all others ( for what ever d!@# reasons) is simply foolhardy & detrimental in the long run. A major cause for future conflicts that could end in VERY UGLY ways.

It’s gonna take a lotta work…be it in business or politics.

Yours Truly, great point there. These zero-sum thinking breeds competition that’s so intense, it became unhealthy, filled with hatred, jealousy and some dirty tricks.
I’m amazed with the blogosphere, where blogs tend to help each other, linking and comenting even on competing blogs.
Maybe a great study to be implemented on the physical world of business..

To Black Zedd : thanks, man.

I’m currently workin’ in an office where the politics is brutal, especially for me & my immediate superior. Middle management act like he’s Ruler of the World…well, I guess there are no utopias even in the office world.

Talk about INTENSE, UNHEALTHY & FILLED WITH HATRED!

    Checkin’ out your blog, nice.

YT- That’s a really deep and great analysis that truly coincides with my thoughts! A splendid analysis! Hope your middle management gets better, maybe you need to take some action :D

Zedd- Indeed. In the blogosphere, bloggers like the win:win situation!
