Never promise things you can never deliver. That goes for life and in business. Promising things you cannot fulfill breaks the trust and bond among your customers and business partners. Keep your promises. It is better that you reject than to promise things you cannot fulfill because it will leave a bitter aftertaste on your customers and business partners if you can’t accomplish them. The breaking of a promise, a trust, can literally destroy your business.
Many are searching for the secret of maintaining their businesses, but the most simplest and important secret is to keep your promises. Never promise what your products can’t do, advertisements that spread the wrong messages, things that cannot be done. Take your promises seriously because not doing so will destroy your reputation and trust.

Promises were not meant to be broken. Ridiculous claims from advertisements have been the number one broken promises for many businesses. Many businesses have been dealt a heavy blow from broken promises through ads. Partnerships ended because of broken promises.
Never promise things you can not deliver. Be extra cautious before making a promise because the consequences are heavy. Don’t we all hate broken promises? Promises were meant to be fulfilled.

In business or life, never “promise”; give your word. If you can do it, say you can, then do it.
Saying “I promise” means nothing. if you really mean it, its just redundant.
Plain honesty (especially in ads) doesn’t always work in business. But they can make lots of differences if executed well.
Dennis- Give your word = promise. Same definition, different wording =D.
Zedd- Always good to be honest, but spice it up so it wouldn’t sound dull.
This is so true. It also goes for personal relationships as well.
