Is the internet your friend or foe? More and more people are using the internet to dig up information about your company before even buying. Any sort of negativity toward your brand will create a devastating backlash that can hurt sales. In this day and age where the cyberspace is the king of information, you cannot deny its power.
With the power of search engines like Google, finding accurate data has become even easier. Scammers and bad companies are having a harder time profiting because more people are researching the companies before buying. One type of your company name can give a return of over 1 million search results.

Good companies can profit tremendously since people who used their products will write good reviews on the experiences they had. People who recommend your products and services on the internet will more likely be purchased by others because of the reviews. All in all, is the internet your friend or foe? Use the internet to your advantage and provide great services and products so you will get positive reviews and compliments on the cyberspace.
The usage of the internet is rising steadily so the spread of information on the cyberspace is increasing rapidly. As information is being published easier thanks to softwares like wordpress and typepad, you might want to rethink neglecting even your smallest customers with bad services or defective items. Is the internet your friend or foe? That depends if you are a good or bad company.

Internet can work both ways.
It’s sad companies often failed to realize the viral aspect of the net users, if they failed to use it to spread positive messages, then the negative one will thrive.
More often than not, they don’t inculcate Internet PR strategy..
Here is a view from different angle.
The access to information and sources has big effects on traditional trade channels for example. Many people believe that when they can easily find sources of whatever they need by googling around, they can also get the deals done … Well access to information does not eliminate need for experience. Many realize only when it is too late … Some too much knowledge combined with lack of experience results in disasters. And this is what does happen often these days … So, yes, internet can be a foe and not only due to its viral powers …
Zedd- I’m surprised most companies still don’t have a Internet PR Strategy.
Biz- That’s the internet for you. Is one giant database of people’s thoughts and ideas.
I was recently involved with a program that
wasn’t delivering the goods and the word
spread to some popular Forums. The negative comments soon prompted a mass exodus of
members and it only snowballed from there.
So, I totally agree with your Post.

I don’t know what happened there.
Had to fix that last comment.
