Do advertisers really buy human ad space? I have heard of it before but it never became another source of advertising. There are so many factors when buying human ad space that it becomes too technical and hard to monitor. I’m sure there will be a market for human ad space in the near future as technology gets more advance in order to track and monitor all the factors into setting a price for an ad spot on your body (especially the forehead).
Right now some of the most crucial concern on human ad space is the exposure of each human ad is different. Without a tracking device, is hard to make a price because the exposure that each person brings is different. Some people might be staying at their house all day so the money is wasted if that holds true.

When you buy human ad space you have to buy it at the best spot possible, which is usually on the forehead. Human ad space might boom during the summer because everyone will be wearing little to no clothing. So it seems any hot spots will do just nice for this kind of business where humans will sell a spot on any exposed part of their body to advertise on. The arm, leg, cleavage, forehead will fetch a good price.
I think an agency that gather sellers and buyers for this kind of business might be viable if there is enough of a market. This would work extremely well in a hot environment where people will be wearing little to no clothing so they can sell it all over their body.

this is a wonderful marketing as well as business idea.
Boobs. I recommend boobs.
Yep, people are getting paid big money for tattoos. I have to tell you, if you are going to tattoo your business on my forehead, you are going to have to pay my a life changing amount of money. I have read stories about people doing for $5000. To that, I say NO DEAL!
I like that idea as well, by the way this comment above me isn’t really smart idea!
Kirk- Thanks =D!
Karen- Everyone loves to stare at them!
Andy- Doesn’t have to be a permanent tattoo. Is kind of scary if people do perm tattoo for $5,000 only. I was thinking of tattoos that washes off after a month or something like that.
LC- Thanks!
I refuse to believe that it’s a permanent tattoo for only $5000
As far as human ad-space goes, I think the idea is fine as a novelty, but if the idea becomes more widely used, I see it as creating negative associations to most brands because the consumer focus could easily be shifted to a companies willingness to deface a person to sell product. I think it is far more important for an ad to be clever if it’s going to be on someone’s body. I would think it would almost have to make the person more interesting somehow, in order to be effective. Another concern is the behavior of the person with the ad. Say the person has something traumatic happen in their lives and an otherwise normal behaving person has a breakdown and falls into some self destructive patterns. Then an advertisement can quickly become a liability with things like public outbursts, dui’s, etc
Good point Shane, but it should be all right if the ads are not permanent (how can people make money if the ads are perm?). They will fade away from washing it after maybe 30 days? As of right now, there’s no safe technology that can implement ads onto the skin of a human being. So until then, this market is just a sketch of what is to come in the future =D. Every person should have a check up before they are qualified to become human ad space.
Human ads do exist nowadays, but not on the skin itself. Sponsored apparels is the closest form of human ads.
Celebs and media-friendly icons wear clothings that bear the message- brands etc..
A great example would be the skateboarders- everything they wear from top to bottom is sponsored for (and displays the ad brand prominently).
It is far more noticeable than a tiny ad on the forehead, rendering actual physical ads useless.
Yes, we may see more personal ads space appear among regular people, but I don’t think it will be in the form of tatoos..
