Generating a Buzz For Your Company

Marketing your products to a select group of people can generate a buzz if the product warrants it. You must first define what group of people you are trying to market and have a product that will satisfy their needs or wants. Your marketing campaign should be unique in order to have a higher chance of generating a buzz because being different means being noticed.

In order to generate a buzz, you need a marketing campaign that caters to that select group of people. You need to target them with something powerful like a video, message, art, music and etc. If you do it right, the marketing campaign can create a buzz that everyone will notice.

When you have an effective buzz, this generates need; Need occurs when the buzz is really big and everyone will want your products because of impulse, pressure and desire. Buzz is real, generated by consumers; it beats hype because it is created by companies (which make consumers filter out their message)

You need to target to a select group of people that you are catering to in the hopes of generating a buzz. Consumers who like to try new things, are open minded and love to spread the latest news and gossip are the people you should be targeting. Generating a buzz from these people is crucial.

Companies have to look for trend setters. I can’t exactly recall the proper terms but this is like Everett Roger’s Diffusion of Innovation theory. There is a group that is willing to try out new things. And a larger group that follows the first group. Opinion leaders and opinion followers, I think.

I’ve seen how a buzz has affected my blog at different points in time, but I definitely need to work on generating even more of one.

Jen- That’s interesting, I’ll research on it. Thanks for your input =).

FM- Indeed. I’m trying to generate a buzz for my Art of War Poem. SU is too smart on my marketing campaign; I wouldn’t say the campaign failed since I’m #3 on the SERP on “Art of War” in SU search, but I have little traffic thanks to the algorithm =(. I have so much stumbles but so little traffic from it.
