2. Besiege Wei to rescue Zhao

“Besiege Wei to rescue Zhao” is a strategy used in order to avoid unnecessary encounters and to gain an upper hand. Attack what is undefended yet precious to the enemy; therefore, your enemies will have to retreat back exhausted and confused. Defeating them will be easier and swifter as they come to you with exhaustion.
Another example is to attack what is weak in order to come back strong. Take advantage of weaknesses for that will be your offensive. Doing so will give you the upper hand. You have a higher chance of winning when your enemies are confused and exhausted from attacking their weaknesses. That is what it means to “besiege Wei to rescue Zhao”.

Visiting you from my entrecard.. Interesting post.. Thanks for sharing
Thank you =D!
I was always taught in all of my trainings to always let the enemy believe you are weak….which, leads to the confusion that you write about. Although most of my fellow Westerners don’t understand this, calling me weak or coward. However, while they box the air around them, I choose the path of least resistance….and, walk past them!
Pentad- You and I share something in common! I almost do what you do!
Place your opponent(s) between the horns of a dilemma. And ALWAYS have the initiative in your hands. That was how Sun Bin trounced Pang Juan in both campaigns despite Pang havin’ attacked first.
Wonderin’ where are your commentaries for the rest of ‘em 34 stratagems?
I’m going to post a few this week!
