Bad Chief Officers, The Downfall of Many Companies

The downfall of many companies can be linked back to the chief officers. The market is very competitive, but most companies blame that as their source of failure. In comparison, bad chief officers are far worse than the competition. Most of these high ranking officers are promoted through ties, relationships or favors. Such attachments will surely destroy any company.

The presence and influence of bad chief officers’ makes the employees under them revolt and despair. From such corruption lies perversion. All the good employees will be gone and the rest of the workforce will adapt to the changes and become just as corrupted as their superior. How can a company survive if everyone is only thinking about profiting themselves? What is worse is when these officers start to work with the enemy.

deconstruction of a building

The chief executive officer (CEO) must value people of talents and cultivate them. The bad must be fired and the good kept. Instead of restructuring the whole company, replace the bad chief officers with people who are more worthy and just. The officers are the ones that inspire their men, and bad officers only corrupt them.

Bad chief officers are like a disease to the company’s health. The longer it stays, the more rotten it becomes. Remove the disease quickly so the company can be back in good health. The chief executive officer holds the medicine to it for he/she has the power to remove them.

Yup! And if the company workers aren’t happy or perhaps, more importantly, PROUD to be working for their company….it’s then hard to get customers willing to be, too.

Very true Joanne. The company workers are very important because it determines how healthy the company is. Always good to have a little celebration every week or month for the employees. Make your workers proud, and the competitors will be wowed.

Living in Japan I have been following the collapse of NOVA Japan. It was all a one man show with their founding CEO controlling everything down to the purchase of new office computers.

And now we have about 6000 people out of work and 400,000 customers out of pocket.

    Kirk- Yep!

Contamination- Seems like the CEO doesn’t trust his men. Without trust there is no business.
