Absence itself makes the work of an individual shine brighter. The more unique and skillful it is, the more it will be appreciated and missed when it can no longer be recreated. That’s why artists like Vincent Van Gogh are only appreciated after his death. He only sold one painting during his lifetime and only through death was his work sought after.
Absence makes the work shine, in death, priceless. The mentalities of things that are limited and scarce play an important factor in valuing. This is human mentality, where things will never be cherished while still present; only when it is gone will it truly be missed. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and the work itself will shine even brighter.
