Generosity is one of those traits that need to be fostered. A person who is generous makes a great leader. People admire and love Bill Gates and Warren Buffet because they are both successful and generous (they gave their wealth to create the “Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation”). Leaders such as these attract people of great minds and talents to work for them.
Being Generous has 3 advantages
- First of all, if the leader is generous, the workforce will be motivated through generosity. A true leader is not stingy and will reward people of talents and motivation. The morale of the workforce will be strong, and any bad rumors of the company and leader can be quickly dispelled. It is a very good measure and counter measure against the enemy.
- The leader is almost like a spokesperson and image of the company. A generous leader will captivate the public. Establishing business partners will be much easier through this person.
- A leader becomes a role model through generosity. Such a person will attract valuable talents across the country. The prestige and reputation of the leader will win the hearts and minds of the talented. Everyone will want to serve you.
Generosity may be hard to foster since one is giving something in the short run to gain something bigger in the long run. By being generous to the workforce, donating and doing charities, and spreading one’s generosity; one will become a great leader.
